Office 365 admins reported that they are unable to export search results from eDiscovery from yesterday. Specifically, the issue started on Wednesday, April 29, 2020, at 12:36 PM UTC.
The eDiscovery search functionality is not affected by this service degradation. Users can perform eDiscovery searches. But, the issue affects users and admins, who attempt to export eDiscovery search results.
Microsoft has identified the root cause of this issue that a subsection of service infrastructure, that has accumulated a large number of cached messages. Due to this, exporting eDiscovery search results has dropped below Microsoft’s acceptable service performance thresholds, which is preventing users from exporting search results from eDiscovery.
To solve this issue, Microsoft has deployed a fix to clear the backlog of cached messages. They are monitoring the fix-deployment, and the progress will be updated by Thursday, April 30, 2020, at 9:00 PM UTC.
